Types of Braces

Types of Braces

With technology quickly advancing, gone are the days of the traditional metal braces. Though they are still the most common, clear (ceramic) braces provide a valid option for those wanting to disguise their braces appearance. Removable options, such as Invisalign, are also a great alternative to metal braces for mild cases of misalignment. We can help you choose the perfect option to get your new smile!

Metal Braces

Metal braces are the most common type. They are made of high-grade stainless steel. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and customizable with colored bands.

Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces - What's the Right Choice for You

Clear Braces

Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawback to ceramic brackets is that they are more fragile, and the transparent elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Invisalign

The Invisalign System is a series of clear overlay templates called aligners that have been computer generated specifically for you to gradually move your teeth. This system is available to adult patients and some teenagers with certain orthodontic bite problems.
