About
Dr. Schmitt loves being an orthodontist! Creating the smiles of his patient’s dreams is a rewarding experience. He is blessed to be a part of this very important transformation in his patients’ lives. He truly believes that transforming a smile can transform a life!
Dr. Schmitt is very energetic, enthusiastic about life, and very optimistic; an enthusiastic motivator!
He does everything he can to motivate his patients to take responsibility for their care and they work together as a team to get the best results that everyone can be proud of.
Most importantly, Dr. Schmitt puts family first, whether it be his own family or yours!
Education
Dr. Schmitt received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Iowa (He also met his wife there!), his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the Iowa College of Dentistry, and his Masters of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Schmitt is a member of several professional organizations including:

- Iowa Society of Orthodontics
- North Carolina Dental Society
- American Dental Association
Outside of Orthodontics
Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Schmitt enjoys anything that involves his wife Stephanie and their four children, Terra, Hunter, Payton, and Sophia.
Being a big part of their lives and a smaller part of his patients' lives gives him energy and keeps him a kid at heart.
Dr. Schmitt loves being active and does a number of activities. Reading, chess, exercising, golfing, fishing, skiing, and the beach!
